After what seemed like the second ice age, it looks like summer is finally upon us. If you’ve been dreaming of getting away to the whimsy of the English countryside or the tranquilité of the south of France, cool your jets and look no further than Terre Bleu lavender farm right around the corner in Milton, ON (which is about an hour west of Toronto – a hop, skip and a jump away.)
Not only will you find their gorgeous and deliciously fragrant lavender fields a delightful place to take a stroll at your leisure (psst, they even rent out selfie sticks so you can capitalize on all the photo-op potential), the farm store alone is worth the trip. You’ll be able to satisfy your sweet tooth with their lavender infused shortbread, chocolates, lotions and tea, and as the farm doubles as an apiary (or beehive, in plain English) you’ll be able to find homemade beeswax candles and honey. If you happen to be one of the uninitiated, trust us when we tell you there’s nothing on earth quite like lavender infused honey.
While you’re there, be sure to sample their refreshing lavender lemonade or a decadent lavender ice cream cone, both of which they have on offer to patrons. While we definitely have a preference out of the two, we’re keeping our opinions to ourselves because we don’t want to spoil the fun, and you really can’t go wrong either way.
There’s no better way to spend a summer weekend than exploring hidden gems, and we can’t think of a better place to start than with a beautiful local farm. Terre Bleu opens to the public on June 1st and is located at 2501 Side Rd 25, Milton ON. Admission to the farm and store is $10.00 per person during the summer season.
Disclaimer: Terre Bleu Lavender Farm is not a client – We just really love this place.
